My Purpose of having spiritmeaning.org
As we learn together on this platform, I will also introduce some general and specific rules for you to take up a particular form of the Mantra Sadhana process. My purpose is that all should benefit. One should have trust and implement the Mantra Sadhana process in life. Definitely then, one shall attain success. You can write to me or WhatsApp or talk to me; my contact is on the website spiritmeaning.org. Many may wiggle out of the problems that surround them.
Sincerity in the Mantra Sadhana undertaking is Key
The more sincere you are, the more you shall benefit. Remember that mantras are very potent. For some people, the results may manifest fast; for some others, the results may come a little later. As I discussed earlier, it all depends on your sincerity, faith in Guru and the Guru Parampara, commitment to the Mantra Sadhana undertaking, and your position in the karma chain. The more intense your practice is, the faster your karma will burn. As the karmas burn, life will become more predictable, manageable, and pleasant.
The Devata Manifests when inner deficiencies are worked upon
One should understand that Devatas get invoked with the Mantra Sadhana undertaking. One has to be free from inner afflictions before invoking the Devata in this process. The Guru will help. Then, at the next level, the Devata manifests in the life of a Sadhaka. One cannot take Mantra Sadhana lightly. Only if a Sadhaka is serious about the mantra will he observe two things happening: One, the inner deficiencies and weaknesses of the Sadhaka start disappearing. The more one gets cleansed, the second manifestation occurs. That is, the Mantra will start solving all the problems of the chanter.
It becomes vital for one to dedicate the Mantra to the Mantra Devata and not ask anything from the Mantra. One should recite the mantra for the pleasure and service of the Mantra Devata alone. The Mantra will be different here and there, for different types of people. Please understand that the purpose of human life is to permanently solve the eternal problems of life, suffering, and death.
Satisfying Petty Desires is not the Goal of the Mantra Sadhana undertaking
So, we should not be foolish by expecting petty desires from the Mantra Sadhana undertaking. Even if one expects such petty desires from the Mantra, the Mantra may temporarily grant that wish, but later situations will nullify the effects over time, and the person returns to Ground Zero. As you desire too many things from the Mantra, you may also start losing interest in the Mantra Sadhana . The best thing to do is to learn to revere the Mantra Devata and perform the Mantra Sadhana with intense interest and love for the Devata.
Role of Guru in the Mantra Sadhana undertaking
Never forget the Guru in the Mantra Sadhana undertaking. He is the pivot and the driving force of the Mantra. Thinking of the Guru as you chant the Mantra is the most effective way to make the Mantra work. This is a deep secret I have learned from the 35 plus years of Mantra Sadhana that I have performed.
Such shall be the sure-shot way to escape the problems of this material world. The faster you realize this fact, the better you will progress. There is another secret to the Mantra Sadhana undertaking: that is, the regular chanting of the Mantra that your Guru has given you. Always do Guru Vandana and take up Mantra chanting. These two simple steps build the power and momentum for the Mantra chanting process.
Only with the Grace of the Guru can your mind settle down on the Mantra; otherwise, your mind will cause constant disturbance in your Mantra Sadhana process. Another big problem with not chanting under the instructions of the Guru is that the mind will oscillate to and fro.
Doubting the Guru
Many times, you may feel spiritual; at other times, you will be materially oriented and waste precious time. This is bound to happen. Many times, the mind will trick you, by asking you, “Do you feel the Guru is sincere? Do you feel that the Guru is really giving you the benefits you are seeking etc.” One should be absolutely trusting, in the Mantra Sadhana undertaking and learn to understand the devious ways of the mind. Only through this intelligent process of discrimination, can one separate the soul from the scum called the mind. Mind is useful only to those who have separated their True Self from the mind. Such Jivas are few and far between.
The Illusion of Maya Devi
Almost every Jiva is perfectly identified by the Mind and hence under the complete influence of Maya and the Mayic Forces that are responsible for gross ignorance. Here alone, the Guru shall make a difference. Seek the blessings of a Guru and start chanting mantras under his guidance. The path to God realization will be shortened by leaps and bounds. Also, while chanting mantras, your focus will be steadfast if you have a great guide supporting and directing your Mantra Sadhana.
Mantras shall respond to you overwhelmingly if done with humility under the Guru or guide. This is the view of the revealed Shastras. Mantras are revealed to the Guru alone. After the Guru is convinced about the student or disciple to some extent, he shall slowly release the Mantra with pressure for the benefit of the disciple. The Mantra should be accepted as arms or Prasad received from the Guru.
The Mantra will respond positively only if the mood of the disciple is such; never otherwise. It is mood and Bhava alone that dominate the Mantra world. Mantra meaning only constitutes 2% of its power. 98% of the Mantra efficacy lies in the humility and surrender of the disciple. This makes the Mantra work like a charm.
7/8 Questions from Sanatana Dharma
The scores generated in this Quiz may or may not be absolute. There may be right or wrong answers to each Question. A percentage towards 100 indicates that you are more aligned to the overall subject matter.
Obedience to Guru is Most Important in the Mantra Sadhana undertaking
Obedience and acceptance of the Guru is the octane fuel of a Mantra; nothing else. I speak from what I have experienced from the loving exchanges I have received from my revered Gurudeva. Chanting mantras with wholehearted devotion can only be obtained once the total love of the Guru is available, not before that. The Mantra Sadhana Undertaking should be under the strict vigilance of the the Guru and nothing related to sadhana, Yamas and Niyamas should be done without the consent of the Guru.
The disciple can equate some extra sensory perceptions; the disciple might equate these extra sensory experiences as a positive response from the Lord. Sadly, this is not so. The Lord first tests the disciple with his unbeatable Maya. In that instance, the disciple has to submit his experiences to the Guru in all humility.
The truthful Guru shall be able to interpret the experiences precisely and shall be able to guide his disciples. One should never forget that Guru Bhakti is foremost in Bhakti Sadhana through Mantra chanting. Only when the perfect Guru signs the application of the Sadhaka can true love of the Lord be manifest in the heart of the Sadhaka, not before that. That is too colossal for the student to accept within his consciousness.
If the Devata or God energy enters a new Sadhaka, it can break the mind or the body of the Sadhaka. This, the Mantra Devata knows. The Devata requires a signal from a bona fide Guru before he can tune in to the Sadhaka, only with the sole intention of the Guru will the Devata enter the life of the Sadhaka, through his Mantra Sadhana.
The Position of the Sat-Guru
The Guru is ever-present and is beyond this material body. This is the case with a Sat-Guru who is beyond the snare of Money, Name and Fame, disciples an has completely dedicated himself to the service of Bhagavan. A person getting some superior extra sensory experience before he meets an authentic Guru indicates that the Guru is around and has already detected the presence of such an individual in the overall arrangement of situations and circumstances.
Many people share their experiences of divine visions and dreams about gods; that is all right. Everyone has Paramatma situated in the heart, so Paramatma reveals His shadows to the fortunate ones. But to be self-realized or God-realized, it is totally different. Without a Guru, there is no question of Truth or knowledge.
Mantras also work under the supervision of the Guru, and so does the Mantra Devata. The Mantra Sadhana Undertaking turns out fruitful only under the guidance of a Sat-Guru and not otherwise.Even Bhagavan is sold out to a God-realized Guru who considers Bhagavan his sole benefactor. So, unless the Sadhaka, or an aspiring Jnani, surrenders to the Guru, reaching the final destination is impossible. This is my humble opinion and the final statement of all known Shastras.
