A Background for Stotrams Benefits like the Laxmi Narasimha Stotram
Before we start, I feel it is my responsibility to address my subscribers and followers in all Truth and sincerity. The true benefits of any Mantra, Ashtakam or Sahasranama will manifest only when a person reaches a Nishkama mood, choiceless and desireless.
Having any expectation out of mantras will never help you and mantras will not work, although many feel that mantra is working, with desires in the heart. In modern science, a valid term for this is the placebo effect, which means “the mind’s false projection”
Realize that true mantra power requires complete giving up of expectations. This is the major goal of any form of mantra sadhana, to get close to Bhagavan and leave the world behind.
We must consider Bhagavan to be our Sole Well-Wisher
Bhagavan gets involved with a person when he realizes that other than Bhagavan there is no true well-wisher, neither our friends, parents, or any other relative. Bhagavan alone is our genuine friend and ultimate well-wisher. So chant Stotrams and mantras in that mood. This is a great secret I am revealing to you so that mantras work for you. Hope you will take cognizance.
Now, back to our prime topic.
Mention of the Lakshmi Narsingha Stotram in the Puranas
The Lakshmi Narasimha Sahasranama Stotram is present in the Narasimha Purana. The Narasimha Purana is one of the Upa Puranas or Sub-Puranas dedicated to Lord Narasimha, the half-man-half-lion incarnation of Lord Vishnu. Lord Vishnu is handsome in any attire.
Even as a lion, he looked majestic. The stotram describes the beauty, qualities, glories, and pastimes of Lord Narasimha which are sweet to hear. What to speak of the joy of reciting them!
The Viha-gendra-samhita of the Pancharatra-Agama mentions over seventy-four forms of Lord Narasimha, out of which nine are prominent. Lakshmi Narasimha is the calmest form because of the presence of Goddess Lakshmi.
Goddess Lakshmi sits on his left thigh holding a soothing lotus in her left hand.
Importance of Ahobilam
A prominent worship spot for Lakshmi Narasimha is Ahobilam.
Ahobilam is a holy town in Andhra Pradesh where Lord Narasimha killed the demon Hiranyakashipu and saved his devotee, Prahlada. In Ahobilam, there is a popular folklore. After killing Hiranyakashipu, Lord Narasimha was furious. He went into the Nallamala forest where he saw a spotless beauty who was none other than Lakshmi Devi. She appeared as a chenchu tribe to calm Lord Narasimha.
Her penance helped cool His temper. Finally, they had a tribal marriage. Lord Narasimha remained in that region as their son-in-law protecting the residents from all danger. If Lord Narasimha is the soul, Lakshmi Devi is the inspiration.

Balance of Male and Female Energies through the Lakshmi Narsingha Stotram
The combination of both male and female energies is mandatory for a balanced life. Even for a child, it is important to have both the father and mother. Hence, it is best to worship Lord Narasimha along with his consort Lakshmi Devi.
When a calamity befalls the house, the father takes the first step to resolve it. Being a male member of the house, a loving father may get too carried away by emotions, this is when the mother steps in, she brings the right intuition or judgment giving direction to the vent of emotions.
In the story, Goddess Lakshmi pacified Narasimha who remained overwhelmed by intense love for his devotee, Prahlada. His intense anger disrupted the balance of the universe. Lakshmi Devi channeled his anger and explained that there was no more reason to be angry. By her intelligence and empathy, she saved the world from destruction.
Hence, she is called the Universal mother. The deity Lakshmi Narasimha is a combination of a lion, man, and goddess. From beastliness to humanity and finally towards divinity. It represents the evolution of the soul- how man transcends his beastly instincts and climbs the ladder towards the Absolute. Though Narasimha has an angry expression, there is innocence in his eyes.

Process for Chanting The Lakshmi Narsingha Stotram
Now let us discuss the rules for the recitation.
You may not require initiation for this Sahasranama, but if you are new to Sadhana, do not start chanting this Sahasranama directly. Start with a sadhana of Sri Rama Jai Ram Jai Jai Ram on Lotus beads for 41 days without break. Only after that I recommend you should take up the Laxmi Narasimha Sahasranama Stotram, so that your chakras align to take up the energy of the Sahasranamam.
Once you finish 41 days of chanting the Sri Ram Jai Ram mantra, 4 rounds of 108 beads, you can chant the Laxmi Narasimha Sahasranama and consume a lot of water as you chant this Sahasranama. The Sahasranama produces intense heat in the lower delicate parts of the body, in the heart chakra, and in the head region.
So you have to be careful.
Also, as you do the Sri Rama Jai Rama mantra, you can simultaneously do one reading of the Hanuman Chalisa every day. After such chanting for 41 days, take up the chanting of Laxmi Narasimha Sahasranamam.
Purify yourself by taking a bath and wearing clean clothes. Take a Sankalpa of continuing this recitation for 11 days, 21 days, or 41 days.

Note that you shall start observing the benefits only after one entire year of Sadhana without a miss. The journey is long. Keep a photo of Lakshmi Narasimha in front of you and put a sandalwood paste dot on their forehead with the ring finger of your right hand.
Offer fresh fruits to the lord daily, during Archana. Think of Guru and Ganesha. Then the recitation starts. Remember, before taking up this sadhana, you need to follow dietary restrictions.
Rules for Chanting The Laxmi Narasingha Stotram
As a Vaishnava, one must stop eating non-vegetarian food and onion-garlic. This is a must, and we cannot compromise with this rule. Also, one must keep away from intoxicants such as alcohol, cigarettes, and tobacco.
Do not invest in the share market, because the worry of money can destroy sadhana. Also, in the modern context, investing in shares is a type of gambling. The restrictions may seem binding, but this is how the sadhana works. These are spiritual rules laid by sadhus for all ages.
By following their footsteps, we can promise a secure future not only in the world but also in the world beyond.
