Among many of the millions of Beeja mantras one of the most powerful chants for individuals surrendered to Gurudeva is the Om Kleem Vishnave Namah. Again, please note that this mantra can only be chanted with the permission of an authentic God realized Vaishnava Guru who is  from any of the Vaishnava Parampara sects like the the Rudra Sampradaya, Nimbarka Sampradaya, Gaudiya Sampradaya, Sri Vaishnava Sampradaya, Sri Madhva Sampradaya, the Ramanandi Sects and so on.

No one should chant this specific Beeja Mantra without the permission of a genuine Guru from an authorized Sampradaya for one’s own good, since this is a locked mantra and can be given access to only by a God realized Guru.

This mantra carries a unique vibration that influences the mental, emotional, and spiritual realms of one’s existence with respect to the Vaishnava Pure Satvika energies that control the working of the visible and invisible multiverse.

Understanding the meaning, significance, benefits of this mantra from the mouth of an authentic Guru can immediately open doors to spiritual growth, material abundance, and harmony in relationships. In this blog, we will explore the deep esoteric meaning of “Om Kleem Vishnave Namah” and how chanting it with devotion can transform one’s life.

Understanding the Meaning of the Mantra

Each syllable in “Om Kleem Vishnave Namah” is pregnant with tremendous power and energy:

Om (ॐ)

The primordial sound that represents the universe, the divine vibration that connects all of creation. It is the sound of the Supreme Consciousness. Since Om here is connected with Sri Vishnu Deva, OM exudes Shuddha Satvika energy or energy in the mode of ultimate pure goodness without any trace of Rajas or Tamas, thereby eliminating all negative influences from our life.

Kleem (क्लीं)

A powerful Bija (seed) mantra, associated with attraction, care, love, and divine magnetism. It is particularly connected to the Kama Bija, which governs desire, relationships, and the energy of attraction. Strangely this is also a Beeja that unites the energy of Lord Krishna and Mother Kali as seen in the deity of Sri Krishna Kali in the famous altar of Dakshineswar, the shrine where Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa served.

Vishnave (विष्णवे)

This refers to Lord Vishnu, the supreme preserver and sustainer of the universe. It encapsulates within itself the protective qualities predominant in the Supreme Person who maintains cosmic balance and ensures that Satya, Dharma and Shanti (Truth, Righteousness and Peace) is upheld, particularly in the life of the sadhaka.

The Vishnu Nama is so powerful that the whole world may be in strife but Bhagawan Vishnu, the supporter of the universe ensures that the devotee is beyond any strife absolutely released from the corruption and trials of the material universe.

Namah (नमः)

A term of surrender, meaning “I bow down with reverence.” It represents humility and complete devotion to the deity invoked in the mantra. Without the words either Namah or Swaha no Mantra is complete. Swaha normally represents the fiery element of surrendering to the deity to such a level that the devotee is ready to burn and offer himself as an offering at the feet of his Ishta Devata.

namah

It is generally recommended that beginners of sadhana avoid the attachment of the word Swaha and instead use Namah , because this is milder and the mantra shall not test the individual as much as it tests anyone who adds Swaha at the end of the Mantra.

Thus, the mantra “Om Kleem Vishnave Namah” translates to: “I bow to Lord Vishnu, who preserves the universe, with the divine energy of attraction and grace.”
